Welcome to Year 2!

We are looking forward to an exciting year full of curiosity, creativity and discovery. This year, our learning journey will take us through wonderful themes including Where Do the Leaves Go in Winter?, Who Lives in a Castle Like This?, and The Secret Garden.

In our seasonal topic, we will explore the changing world around us, discovering what happens to trees, plants and animals during autumn and winter. We will investigate nature, weather and the environment while learning to observe and ask thoughtful questions about the world around us.

During our castle topic, we will travel back in time to discover who lived in castles and why they were built. We will explore the lives of kings, queens, and knights through stories, role play and creative activities, while learning about castles in Wales and beyond.

In our Secret Garden topic, we will become young gardeners and plant explorers as we learn all about plants and growing. We will investigate seeds, flowers and lifecycles, discover what plants need to survive, and enjoy caring for plants in our indoor and outdoor learning spaces.

Throughout the year, we will work together to build confidence, independence and a love of learning through exciting hands-on experiences and creative challenges. We cannot wait to share all of our adventures with you and make many happy memories together in Year 2.
